The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible - Arthur C. Clarke
Experiencing anxiety or panic attacks is extremely exasperating. It is very much advised that you find yourself the right and apt treatment for anxiety attacks and its many signs and symptoms as early on and as quickly as possible since its occurrence can very well leave you confused, drained and fearful. For many people, living with fear in mind may force them to make lifestyle modifications, just so they could avoid having another panic episode. With this, a lot of anxiety sufferers choose to stay in the confines of their homes and they also sometimes develop agoraphobia. They refrain from socializing and going to public places and even avoid certain situations or activities such as driving for example.
GAD or Generalized Anxiety Disorder is also similar and this is a condition wherein you feel terrified that something wrong is going to take place and you will find it very hard to focus or concentrate on the task at hand. Anxiety can easily take control of life and will leave a negative effect on your relationships and overall performance. All in all, your capability to function optimally will severely suffer.
The signs and symptoms of anxiety will vary from person to person, but then again, here is a short list of some of the most commonly reported anxiety physical symptoms;
- Racing heart
- Hot & cold flushes
- Tightening of the chest (usually mistaken for an actual heart attack)
- Shortness of breath and irregular breathing patterns
- Dizzy spells
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Digestive problems
- The feeling of being frozen (usually happens during full attacks)
Now, that is not all there is to it. Aside from physical symptoms, there are also mental symptoms which are associated with panic or anxiety attacks and they include;
- Obsessive as well as extensive worrying
- The feeling of losing one’s mind or going insane
- The feelings of passing out or losing control
- Mental block
There is a long list of treatment options that you can choose from in terms of how to treat anxiety attacks or panic attacks. There are of course, prescription medications that you could go for, but there are also natural remedies which would involve the use of relaxation tactics (meditation, breathing exercises etc.), the use of excellent herbs and acupuncture to name some. Then again, the simplest way in order for you to put an end to your problem is for you to learn how you can get control of your emotions rather than letting them take control of you! If you are able to break the vicious cycle of tension and worry, you can stop the panic episodes from ever occurring.
