Two Types of Non Invasive Rhinoplasty

July 29th, 2010

When it comes to rhinoplasty and nose jobs, the surgical procedure is very invasive which means there are some serious complications that could arise. Surgical procedures are always a serious matter and should be avoided whenever it is not necessary. Fortunately for anyone considering that they might want an adjustment to their nose there are non invasive rhinoplasty alternatives.

The first non invasive option is laser rhinoplasty. This is a treatment that actually only touches the skin of the nose and is commonly used on the tip or bulb of the nose. By using a CO2 laser, to cause superficial damage to the skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin, the body will natural shed the damaged skin cells and replace it with new skin cells. This results in the treated area being covered with a new, healthier, younger looking layer of skin.

There is also the injection treatment which uses a treatment like BOTOX Cosmetic or Restylane. The injection is used to smooth out the bumps in the nose and create a straight line. This can subtly yet significantly improve the appearance of the nose especially within the context of the rest of the face. It simply injects under the skin so there is no risk of obstructing the nasal airways and since it is a non surgical procedure does not put the patient at risk of excessive pain or scars.

These non surgical alternatives are only applicable to treating the skin and just under the skin. Those who still desire to change the shape or reduce the size of their nose will still require a surgical procedure. Some rhinoplasty reconstruction surgeries are medical cases where the patient was injured in an accident or other cause of deformity that can cause problems like breathing difficulties. These are necessary and the costs will be covered be medical insurance.
