Eat More to Lose Weight

Some people are still under the impression that the less they eat, the thinner they will be. That is far from the truth. Eating too little is simply not a good idea. It is important to get enough energy from your diet for three reasons: to avoid the energy saving mode, to get all the vital nutrients you need to stay healthy and good-looking and to be able to go on the whole day.

You really have to eat to lose weight. Energy-saving mode is what happens to you when you aren’t getting enough energy from your diet and the body reacts by turning the metabolism down to save the energy the best it can. You might also start losing muscle tissue, since muscles use up more energy than fat. If you continue cutting your calorie intake even further, you can end up losing your hair, your period might get irregular and you can get seriously ill.

When you try to eat as little as you can, you don’t get all the essential nutrients your body needs. It is important to take care of the nutritional balance, so the least you can do while dieting is to take a multivitamin pill every day. However, it is always better to get your nutrients from a variety of different foods instead of pills.

When you eat enough, you have the energy to stay active throughout the day. Low-calorie diets can make you tired, so you might find it hard to take care of your  daily chores and start choosing to sit on the sofa instead of playing with your kids or stay home instead of going out after work.
So, how to lose weight fast without starving yourself? Stop thinking about quantity and concentrate on quality instead! One way to do it is to limit your sugar intake. If you cut sugars off your diet and replace them with fat and protein, you will lose weight while eating as much as you want to!
