An electric frying pan is an ordinary pan with an electric heating panel added to it, a wok is made electric in a similar fashion. This bowl can be nonstick stainless steel, or cast iron if it’s an older or more traditionally made piece.

Both solutions come with their ups and downs. Nonstick can be used for a great variety of things without having to worry about the cleaning process. It’s in turn more sensitive to scratches, and doesn’t take high temperature levels that well. Cast iron is closer to original woks made in China. They’re a tad harder to clean, but you don’t have to be that gentle. Rub it with sand if you’re camping or a metal scrub, you won’t do any damage to the raw material.

The cast iron is also heavier, which allows for more stored heat, thus stir-frying is going to be easier. This technique requires a rather hot wok and constant tossing of all ingredients to avoid burning them. Oil with high smoke temperature is also used, such as coconut oil.

An electric wok uses and electric heating unit instead of gas heater, which is more consistent in reaching target temperatures. It makes the wok a bit heavier as a complete unit, but you won’t have to look for a gas burner. An outlet is always easy to find.

Electric woks are available through major retailers, I’d suggest that you don’t settle with the  first you find, though. Feel free to check around all the features, temperature levels and extras. A proper piece shouldn’t cost more than $70. The newlyweds will appreciate that you cared enough to purchase them an electric wok.

3. Stamped knives are made using a “cookie cutter” process of stamping the blade out of a larger piece of tempered steel.

4. Most stamped knives are “flat ground” in the blades profile.

5. Forged knives are heavier and more durable due to a thicker blade profile.

6. Forged knives are heated, hammered and flattened many times as heat levels of 1800 F or higher.

7. Most forged blade knives are full tang construction.

Both types of kitchen knives hold the blade sharpness well. It’s the grade of steel that decides how long a kitchen knife stays sharp. It does come down to money. The more expensive used the more expensive steels and that is a fact. You have to decide how you will be using your knives. If you are going to be performing light duty cooking for your family like light veggie cutting and Asian stir fry then quality stamped blades are just fine. If however you will be cutting lots of veggies and larger, heavy cuts of meats and need a longer term sharp edge on your knife then forged is the way to go.

Buying quality items is never cheap, you may well have to give the credit card some use but as long as you are well informed before you purchase and remember one of the best ways to know if something is worth buying is to read and hear what other consumers such as yourself are saying about a particular brand of knives. This way you will be able to choose the best kitchen knives for you.

Fortunately today, there are wide varieties of handicap bathtubs that are specially designed for those who have difficulty. Furthermore, many modern designs have the ability to let the person use the bathtub without additional assistance. What You Should Know About Persian Rugs

There are many attractive and interesting floor rugs out there that we can use to make our homes more beautiful. One of these is the Persian rug. A Persian rug comes from the Oriental rug family and can be traced all the way back to ancient Persia. There are several things that you should know about these rugs if ever you are on the lookout for one.

The biggest exporter of these Persian rugs is Iran. An authentic hand knotted or hand woven rug produced by skilled craftsmen may take many months to produce. That is why the prices for such rugs are truly exorbitant. The craftsmen take on the tedious process using only the best wool, cotton and sometimes silk to come up with some of the best looking rugs in the world. Silk is the most expensive material and can result in the rug being priced as high as the sky. That is why most silk Persian rugs are treasured collector’s items, and used as decorative wall displays and not placed on the floor.

These Persian beauties can be categorized into three types according to their sizes. Anything that is larger than 6 x 4 feet is known as a Farsh or Qalii’. Anything between 6 x 4 feet and smaller is known as the Qalicheh. Subsequently, a rough carpet is known as the Kilim.

Design wise, the surface of the Persian rug can either be covered all over with a motif, or decorated with a centre medallion, or decorated with a repetition of several different motifs. Different motifs and patterns have different meanings. Some of the traditional motifs that you can find are like the Gul, Boteh, Herati, Mina Khani, Shah Abbasi and the Rosette.

These days, the luxurious and exquisite designs found on these Iranian rugs have been copied and reproduced by other countries. Iran may be the producer of the authentic Persian rugs, but it has some serious competition from other countries that provide these rugs at a more affordable price. Many of these rugs today are also machine woven and even made from synthetic materials, which makes them more affordable and accessible to anyone.
