Backpack Handbag: Ordinary Fashion Object

August 18th, 2010

Some people think a backpack handbag is an ordinary fashion object. Handbags are for ladies and backpacks are for soldiers and hikers, but what if those rules are broken and a third option appears. Some people think a backpack handbag is an ordinary fashion object, but it’s really the creation of the best from two distinctive worlds.

Backpack handbags are made from almost any material and the only requirements is that it will fit across the back hung from two straps on the shoulders. They are an interesting blend of the best of those two worlds—fashion and adventure. The fine looks of quality fashion purses and the room and convenience of functional outdoors equipment. They aren’t the size of a normal backpack, but they do look as nice as any designer handbag.

Normally the handbags are made from either leather or different fabrics and canvas. Sometimes some of both materials. Either will make a fine looking bag and the leather ones are prized for their high fashion and quality looks. Leather has that exclusive look and women who are fashion conscious will go with this material over fabric or canvas.

If convenience and a lower cost are more important than looks a canvas bag is the way to go. Canvas bags can be decorated in ways that leather can’t and original looking hand painted bags will give the owner an only one of a kind looking purse. These bags are a lighter weight bag to carry, but may not last as long as a leather bag will. Rain and dirt don’t mix well and a canvas bag is more susceptible to damage from both.

Choose your material and find the look you think works best for you. Carrying the purse across your back will be a welcome change and give that one shoulder a break from doing all of the carrying.
