The flute is an amazing instrument that can create beautiful music. There are many flute accessories that flute owners can enjoy having. Flute cases come in a variety of styles and colors. These cases can come in hard or soft outer shells. The inside of the flute case is usually lined with a soft cloth material that protects the different parts of the flute. A cleaning cloth should be used to clean each section of the flute before it is put away. A polishing cloth can be used to polish the outside of the flute. Usually these cleaning accessories come with a flute, but they can also be purchased separately.

An adjustable music stand and music stand light are also import accessories for flute players to have. Having an adjustable music stand will help ensure that the flute player maintains the correct posture while playing the flute. This will help ensure the flute player gets the right tone out of the flute when they are playing it. A good light for the music stand is important, so a flute player can read music during dark concerts.

When some flute players are just beginning to learn to play the flute they like having a teaching aid to help them. This tool can help the flute player learn how to do double and triple tongue techniques. This tool can also help a flute player achieve the correct tone.

September 6th, 2010

It is common knowledge that music and fashion are and will always be very closely related. Music stars have always been known for their characteristic and often outlandish styles of dress as their music. Take strong, globally renowned female artists like Bjork and Madonna for example. Both are incredible artists and performers to whom the visual aspect of their art is equally as important as their boundary pushing and era defining music.

The problem is, unless you are very handy with a sewing machine it is quite difficult for budding musicians to come up with an attention grabbing outfit that says ‘Look at me!’. Therefore, by far the easiest and most convenient way of expressing your individuality and creativity in a practical and effective way is to customize or accessorize your instrument!

There are so many products and so many ways that you can do this and set yourself apart from the thousands if not millions of other aspiring musicians out there. One such product that is extremely popular amongst female guitarists at the moment is the pink guitar strap.

They come in a massive assortment of varieties so there really is a style of pink guitar straps to suit the tastes of anyone and everyone.

If pink isn’t your thing then you could get a guitar strap in pretty much any other colour that you can think of and with almost any pattern!

If you’ve already got a pink guitar strap then how about getting yourself an assorted handful of brightly coloured guitar picks that you can choose from depending on what mood you are in? Match them with your nail varnish or lipstick for extra detail!

You could swap out the boring, standard, factory plastic control knobs on your guitar for skull ones, dice ones or even shiny chrome ones to dazzle your audience when you are rocking out under the spotlight.

Or how about swapping the plain pick guard out with one in your favourite colour or even a custom one with a picture printed on it?

How to Choose between a Bass Combo amp and a Bass Stack

September 5th, 2010

If your a bass player and you’re trying to figure out if you want a bass combo amp or a bass cabinet and bass head separate, then you’ll be happy to know that just about every bass player has been through the same dilemma. I have been playing the bass guitar for over 20 years and have played on a number of different bass amps throughout the years. I have discovered that their isn’t necessarily a correct answer tot his question. Both a Bass Amplifier Combo amp and a bass tack have their own pros and cons. Each has its advantages and disadvantages and like most things in left, it simply chimes down to preference.

I can still remember my very first bass amp. It was a Fender Baseman 100. This was a Bass Combo amp. I loved it, as it was my first bass amp ever. But for what it was, it worked grist for me. It was light enough where I could carry it by myself and it was all in one package so there were not many accessories I need to bring to jam. All I need was my bass guitar, and my bass combo amp. I then moved away and needed to buy a new amp. I choose the Ampeg Bass Combo amp. This was a little “upgrade” to my Fender because it had more controls on it. It had a nice parametric EQ, compressor and “EXTRA BASS” control that I enjoyed immensely. I thought that the amp also was a much better deal that the Fender Baseman Combo because of these controls and it was essentially the same weight.

However, I soon felt that I need an even bigger and better amp so I could play louder venues. It was then that I switched from the guitar bass combo amp and went with a separate bass head and bass cabinet. I stuck without Ampeg and bought an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro Bass Head and bought an Ampeg Bass Cabinet with 4×10 inch speaker. I loved this amp and still play it toady. It so loud and durable that I have been able to bring it everywhere I go without any problem’s I would highly suggest trying out for yourself different types of combo amps and bass cabinets beefier making your decision.

How Do You Install Logitech Speakers

August 30th, 2010

To enhance the quality of the speakers, you can use Logitech Speakers System X-230 for excellent sound. This system consist of two logitech speakers, plus a subwoofer. You will adjust the speakers on your computer, in the way your computer desktop is arranged, and position it accordingly. To set up the actual speakers it should at take at least 10 minutes, or it could be longer depending on your speed.

You will need to place both of the logitech speakers beside the monitor on both sides of the screen. The speaker on the right will have all the controls. So, you should place it in a position, so that you are able to change the settings if you need to.

The subwoofer, should be placed on the ground, as it can take up a lot of space. There needs to be roughly around 6 inches of space, between you and the subwoofer, and anything else that is around it. The reason for this, is the subwoofer produces a lot of sound, and it vibrates as well.

Next you will need to, attach the plug of the d-sub to the right speaker and towards the back of the subwoofer. Ensure that you have the pins in alignment, and you need to secure each of the screws on the plug on both sides.

You will then need to connect the green cable into the slot of the speaker, in the back of your computer. Usually the slot for the speaker cables will be colored with the same colors, as the cable you are inputing into the computer.

Then you will then need to connect the subwoofer to the outlet. Then finally press the power and standby button. This button should be located on the far right of your new Logitech computer Speakers. Now, once you have finished installing your Logitech speakers system, you can finally enjoy the sounds of your work.

Your Guitar Needs A Guitar Case

August 30th, 2010

It is often said that music can soothe the savage beast, if you are a musician you will know that unless you take care of your instrument it wont take long before it looks like it was savaged by the beast. Guitars are very sensitive instruments, even the smallest scratch or dent can drastically change the sound of the instrument, so having guitar cases are vital. Not only will you need to use guitar cases that are of a high quality, but you also need a case that is versatile enough to meet your needs. There are many different styles and all of them have their own benefits. Some of the choices are padded guitar bags, hard cases, gig bags and guitar bags. Many of these bags can be pretty high in price so you will want to get the perfect case first time.

Two of the most important things to consider are, does it offer your guitar enough protection for the purposes you use it, and does it house all of the things you need to carry around with you. Guitars are available in a huge range of different shapes and sizes, so if you have a few guitars, it is possible you wont be able to use one case for all your guitars.

A hard guitar case is going to offer more protection than soft cases, but it wont offer much in the way of functionality. Soft guitar cases on the other hand are much lighter and will have a large number of pockets for keeping things like leads, picks, straps and your other related gear, but unlike a hard case, a soft case isn’t going to offer anywhere as much protection. Usually hard cases are made from high impact plastic or a metal, normally aluminum, a soft guitar case will be made from more flexible materials like nylon, leather and canvas. You can also find guitar cases in more odd shapes like the old school gangster violin case or a coffin shaped case. These coffin cases can be made so that they carry multiple guitars.

What Are The Best Headphones

August 25th, 2010

This type of question you will see all the time and it is a little bit like asking how long a piece of string is. For every good review you will see regarding a great set of cans you will see another that slates them for one reason or another. How do you win?

The best thing to do is take time out and ask yourself what the primary use for them will be. Are they to be used for air travel, are they to be used for TV. These type of questions will help you determine what type you need and to narrow down your focus so that you can do some deeper digging. Start from the top and work yourself down.

Here are some of the categories that you might want to consider before you move down to the level below.

Do you need freedom of movement when using your headphones? If so you might want to consider cordless stereo headphones especially if you are a gamer and using a big television screen as you screen as opposed to a computer.

Do you want the headphones for flying purposes? You will probably want noise cancellation devices and  even consider ear-buds if you are prone to falling a sleep with them in as they are more comfortable.

Do you want them for sports such as jogging? Wrap arounds or ear-buds may be better as they are less prone to falling out during vigorous head or body movements.

Do you want DJ sound quality? Then heavy duty cans may be the best thing for you even though they are heavy on the head they provide the best sound quality.

Do you need an active microphone for gaming interaction or conversation whilst online. You need to move towards buying a headset if this is the case. You can buy hands free headsets that are used in call center type roles or ear-buds with a  microphone attached down the lead in to the ear.

As you can see you have a bigger choice to make regarding which type of headphone you want or need before you start considering which is the best headphone. You don’t want to make the mistake of buying cordless headphones if the main purpose of buying them in the first place was to block external noise from flying on a plane do you?

As with most commercial items in the technology bracket the choices are wide but if you do your homework and look in a methodical way you will get what you want and need in the end.

The rest is down to how much you want, need or can afford to pay.

Crosby Stills Nash and Young Sounds Live With MFSL CDs

August 24th, 2010

For most people listening to music is a daily occurrence. Whether it is listening to the radio in the car, or the stereo at home, music is a daily aspect of life. The majority of the music that people listen to is reproduced. With the days of vinyl records and audiocassettes having passed into history, digital recording is the new norm. Digital music has also experienced a few evolutions. Compact discs that house digitally recorded music have dramatically increased in clarity with regard to the reproduction of sound. This is especially true of the CDs created by a company known as Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL). MFSL CDs are developed by using original master recordings of the artists. Vintage music from the Woodstock Era is a good example of how an old vinyl recording can be reproduced with live sound quality. For example, a Crosby Stills Nash and Young MFSL can reproduce their music to sound as if they are playing right in the living room of the listener’s home.

Crosby Stills Nash and Young’s music contains three and four part harmonies that are often hard to reproduce through any recording technique. However, MFSL discs change muddy master recordings into ultra clear sound that has also been described as a quiet sound as well. Through MFSL’s technology, every octave can be heard clearly without the noise that is sometimes sometimes found in digital recordings. Music from just about every era has been improved with an MFSL cd. Even an old Nate King Cole recording can sound fresh and clear.

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has been reproducing master recordings of music since the late 1970′s. However, their successful technique for clearing up old music to mimic the live quality began with vinyl and cassette tapes. Now MFSL has perfected their technique with the reproduction of music through digital means. Many music listening connoisseurs swear by the improved sound quality of an MFSL disc.
