Adventurous TV Designers

Black is by far the most popular colour that television sets are produced in today. That has always been the case, however quite recently TVs were frequently available in other colours, particularly silver. But for some reason, probably relating to production methods and profitability, TVs that come in any colour other than black are more difficult to find than ever.

For the vast majority of consumers in the market for buying a new TV set this isn’t an issue, particularly when buying a big display TV as the main TV set in a household, black is perfectly suitable for a living room or entertainment room. But for the consumer buying a secondary TV for a kitchen, day room or a bedroom, sometimes a TV that is another colour would be more fitting and integrate with the chosen room’s style of interior décor more appropriately. I’m not necessarily talking about anything radical here, perhaps a white TV in a kitchen would look better, or a silver TV for a study or bedroom. But also, I’m sure that most teenage girls would prefer a pink TV in their bedroom rather than one of the countless black options that are available.

Well if you expand your search a little further than the usual mainstream TV manufacturers, you might actually find some interesting designs that would satisfy the tastes of the more adventurous consumer. There is one particular manufacturer who produces televisions in ‘different’ colours, their name is Favi Entertainment.

Favi produce a range of high definition televisions in black, white and pink! Their TVs designs are not at the expense of quality either. They have specifications and features that rival the leading brands, and they are constructed using quality Samsung LCD panels. They do produce smaller 19 and 26 inch TVs that are ideal for bedrooms, kitchens and other viewing areas where smaller screen sizes are typically preferred. Another brand from the UK that is establishing themselves as highly regarded brand is Cello. They have been around for some time now and have come a long way since they brought us their original LCD 14” TV. As well as producing TVs in different colours such as black, white, cherry, silver and pink they have some attractive features such as iPod docking stations, integrated DVD players and recording of programming using removable SDRAM.

Introducing The Glympse Cell Phone Locator

If you are like the millions of Americans who have cell phones with GPS chips installed in them, you might be interested in learning about the a very cool service from a company called Glympse.  This company provides a cell phone locator service unlike any other.

With many of the free cell phone locator services on the market, you need to download and install special software onto your phone in order for it to work.  Even then, the service may only work with a handful of phones. Even some services that you must pay for require you to download and install software onto your phone.  With the Glympse cell phone locator service, all you have to do is go to the Glympse website from either your mobile browser on your phone or a computer and send a either an e-mail or a text message to anyone that you would like to be able to track your phone.

Unlike many cell phone locator services glimpse only allows that individual to track you for a predetermined length of time.  You can choose to duration from 15 minutes up to about an hour and 1/2. The provides a great advantage for business use.  Imagine that you are meeting with a group of clients for a business meeting at 1:00 PM.  Before you leave your office to meet them at theirs, you can log onto a computer and send them a message from Glympse that will allow them to log onto a computer and track your progress.

If you are running a little bit late, they don’t need to call you and ask you where you are.  They can simply look at a computer, see your location, and calculate your estimated time of arrival.  When the predetermined length of time has expired, they will no longer be able to track you.  This is perfect because you don’t necessarily want to give the ability to track your location to people all the time but it may be convenient if they can track you for specific occasions.

How Do You Install Logitech Speakers

To enhance the quality of the speakers, you can use Logitech Speakers System X-230 for excellent sound. This system consist of two logitech speakers, plus a subwoofer. You will adjust the speakers on your computer, in the way your computer desktop is arranged, and position it accordingly. To set up the actual speakers it should at take at least 10 minutes, or it could be longer depending on your speed.

You will need to place both of the logitech speakers beside the monitor on both sides of the screen. The speaker on the right will have all the controls. So, you should place it in a position, so that you are able to change the settings if you need to.

The subwoofer, should be placed on the ground, as it can take up a lot of space. There needs to be roughly around 6 inches of space, between you and the subwoofer, and anything else that is around it. The reason for this, is the subwoofer produces a lot of sound, and it vibrates as well.

Next you will need to, attach the plug of the d-sub to the right speaker and towards the back of the subwoofer. Ensure that you have the pins in alignment, and you need to secure each of the screws on the plug on both sides.

You will then need to connect the green cable into the slot of the speaker, in the back of your computer. Usually the slot for the speaker cables will be colored with the same colors, as the cable you are inputing into the computer.

Then you will then need to connect the subwoofer to the outlet. Then finally press the power and standby button. This button should be located on the far right of your new Logitech computer Speakers. Now, once you have finished installing your Logitech speakers system, you can finally enjoy the sounds of your work.

With the variety of Universal remote controls to choose from out there it can get a bit confusing in what type of Universal remote to get. It is important to know the two types of Universal remotes so you know how to get the one that will work with your electronics. There are two types of Universal remotes out on the market today. They are you pre programmed and your learning remotes like the Logitech Harmony.

Preprogrammed Remotes

Preprogrammed Universal remotes come with that long list of every electronic manufacturer in the world that makes TV’s, DVD, VCR, CD, even Cable box. You then have to find the right code your type of TV, DVD, VCR, Cable box, and CD. An example would be you have an RCA TV. You then fine RCA on the pamphlets then enter each code till your remote works, then that is the code for your TV as you them move on to your next electronic and do the same. It is good to circle that code for sometimes when you change the batteries you have to re enter the code again which can be annoying especially if you did not circle the code. You will have to go through the code search process all over again. If you have a lot of electronic this can be a little taxing, and time consuming.

Learning Remotes

Learning Universal remotes saves you on the finding the right coded process. This might sound wonderful for you dislike punching in those darn codes, but if you are buying your Universal remote for you lost the original one you are out of luck. The learning remotes operate using a zap system. You point your Universal remote at your old remote and it instantly takes the information from the original remote then adds it to the new Universal remote to make it is own.

Logitech Harmony remotes are good examples of these types of learning remotes which also have other enjoyable features. An example is the Logitech Harmony remotes once again can come with an LCD touch screen, and back lighting so you can operate your remote in the dark better. Last month I brought a brand new Canon PowerShot S90 and camera accessories from online store in a combined offer as a digital camera bundle. One thing I would like to say is, this really saved me lots of bucks and few hours. Before buying this camera I did some research and read some very good reviews about this product and 5 star ratings on couple of online stores. Now after using this camera for one month, I can say that I didn’t make any mistake by buying this awesome camera. After looking on the pictures clicked by this camera you can’t say that these pictures are clicked by compact point in shoot camera. Picture clarity is too good and can be easily compared with high end camera photographs.

One of the good thing about this camera is it small and compact size. With its small size of  100 x 58 x 31 mm, you can easily carry it in your pocket. No need to carry additional camera back. Also the camera is light weight and it ways just above 150gm. This Canon PowerShot S90 comes with the shock resistant technology and clicking photograph is so easy that even a beginner can click the photo (even I fall under this category). You can adjust al the possible setting to click your photograph based on the surroundings and picture size/photo mode. With its wide angle technology on board you can easily click the landscape photographs in the highest quality.

The output of the camera is really good with hardly any sign of noise. The battery life of this camera is around 300 photographs with a fully charged battery and the 3-inch LCD has a crystal clear clarity. Too good to have tis quality on board for this category camera. The build quality of the camera is very good and the camera appears to be made up of some high quality material.

DLP Lamps and Projection TVs

If you’re considering purchasing a front or rear projection TV you need to be aware of how important DLP lamps will be to your television. You also need to be aware that they’re expensive and they do need to be replaced pretty frequently. These lamps can cost $200 or more and might need to be replaced every six months to two years, depending on how often you use your television each day.

If you happen to enjoy having a television on several hours a day just as background noise and to glance at occasionally, a projection television might not be the best choice for you. Just like a light bulb, a DLP lamp has a certain number of burning hours within it. And obviously, the longer it burns each day, the fewer number of days you’ll be able to use it.

If you use the television for three or four hours a day, you could be replacing the light every year. The lamp could also last for two years even if you use it a little more, as there’s no real guarantee about how many hours each one will last. A good guess is that each one will last between 1000 and 2000 hours but it could be less or more than that depending on the brand and the individual light. Just like some light bulbs tend to blow out very quickly, some lamps are going to go long before you think they should.

LED DLP lamps are a better choice than other types as they do tend to last much longer and don’t burn as hot as other lights. You won’t find cost savings from purchasing these lights except in that they do tend to need replacement less frequently. Stock up on two or three when you find a good sale to save a little bit of money over the long haul.

Do you need an active microphone for gaming interaction or conversation whilst online. You need to move towards buying a headset if this is the case. You can buy hands free headsets that are used in call center type roles or ear-buds with a  microphone attached down the lead in to the ear.

As you can see you have a bigger choice to make regarding which type of headphone you want or need before you start considering which is the best headphone. You don’t want to make the mistake of buying cordless headphones if the main purpose of buying them in the first place was to block external noise from flying on a plane do you?

As with most commercial items in the technology bracket the choices are wide but if you do your homework and look in a methodical way you will get what you want and need in the end.
